Potter
I'm at a sort of confused moment in my life.

Not only do I have a midterm this week (on Thursday) as well as a quiz (on Wednesday), but I also got a copy of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". Argh. I think I'll just re-read the first chapter, since I sort of skimmed it over before work. And I will just try and put it down. I'll put it in a box I bought from D&K, which is closing. That way, I can't see it in the morning (thus making it easier for me to just study for my quiz and midterm before work.)I do have to work tomorrow.

What am I supposed to do? Read the book before my friend spoils it for me (she has a tendency to do this for movies and books I want to read), or just study? Or do I not study and read and then fail my quiz and test? Or do I just study and then wonder what the heck is going to happen in the book? Argh. I hate decisions like these.

This is all that is consuming my life and mind at the moment. That and trying to figure out things for school and personal things.

Speaking of which, I think I will actually enjoy this semester, outside of the fact that my class is actually a 15 week class crammed into a 5-week long semester. My supervisor seems really cool and laid back, so I won't be so uptight like I was last semester. Hopefully I will do better, since when I am under stress, I have a tendency to fall apart.

I read some cool instructions on getcrafty.com, and there's some funky instructions for making skirts out of pillowcases and underpants from t-shirts. Now I'm tempted to take one of my I (heart) NY t-shirts and turn it into a pair of undies...Hmm. Worth a try, even though I'd also feel mighty silly with that on my butt. There's also a pretty shawl instruction for knitting, and quite a few others for crochet, like crochet sushi. I'd do that but I can't crochet. I just don't know how. I am, however, tempted to make the pillowcase shirt. And I have a bunch of ties I bought from gabe's for a dollar before I left for Germany, for the sole purpose of making a skirt, though I am not sure I'd actually wear it in public if it turns out okay. The reason I was thinking of this tie-skirt is because in the 80's, I read in one of those gawd-awful teen magazines about making skirts out of ties and/or men's shirts. And my high school student art teacher actually had a skirt made out of a tie. I think that'd be awesome. I was also thinking (while at work--that last hour was just dead), of maybe cutting up the seams of my old jeans and flaring them out by using ties...or making pillows, etc. I figure when I get time, I'll do one of these. I'll start with the skirt. I think that would be fun to make and wear in the fall...seems to be more of a fall fabric than summer material.
